Our Small Wonderful Island Has So Much to Offer

Isle of Wight Activities

The Isle of Wight abounds with things to see and do for all ages – the list on this page is just a small selection. There are a variety of attractions for those with and without children – please ask for details.  Even on our farm alone you can enjoy Isle of Wight Alpacas, Sheep, Fishing, Walking, Horse & Carriage Rides and Yoga.

A Carriage Drive or Carriage Driving Lessons

A carriage drive or carriage driving lessons can be enjoyed. Murray is a Welsh section D driving pony.  If you wish to step back in time in a horse drawn carriage please contact Robert Young on
07734 166651.

Walking, Cycling, Fishing, Horse Riding, Golf, Shooting, Yoga

Guests are free to follow the variety of footpaths and bridleways across the farmland to the downs, from which there are panoramic views across the Isle of Wight. The renowned Stenbury and Worsley trails are directly accessible from the farm. Invigorating walks in open countryside or along the many coastal trails is a favourite pastime for many of our visitors, as are the excellent bird-watching opportunities.

The Island Has Something For All

Make Your Visit One You'll Never Forget

Here at Godshill Park Farm we host yoga, pilates and energy medicine retreats, sewing weekends plus Dementia Adventures. We will provide an Isle of Wight retreat set in a warm, cosy and welcoming environment.

Horse Riding

There are several riding schools on the island including Hill Farm Riding Stables at Freshwater, Trotters in Ryde and Sally’s at Bembridge. Other riding schools we recommend are Kitbridge and Lake Farm for a great experience.

Activity Weekends & Retreats

We host activity weekends and retreats throughout the year as guests discover that the farm’s stunning setting aids in creating an environment of calm, serenity and beauty.

Top Things to Do on the Isle of Wight

See For Yourself

  • Take a walk through the farm along ancient bridleways to the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary where you can meet lots of gorgeous donkeys and enjoy delicious food in the cafe.
  • For some culture, visit Brading Roman Villa; one of the finest Roman sites in the UK with an award-winning Visitor Centre and Museum which give unique insights into Roman life in Britain.  It houses beautifully preserved mosaic floors and an extensive collection of Roman archaeology.
  • Relive the age of steam at the Isle of Wight Steam Railway and the 10 mile Museum.  The quaint station has been carefully restored to reflect a 1940s British Railways (Southern) style station.
  • The Monkey Haven on the outskirts of Newport provides a great day out where you can see their different rescued primates and other animals.
  • Take a hike from Godshill Farm up to the Worsley monument from where you will have excellent views of most of the island and glimpses of the south coast.  The grounds of Appuldurcombe House, the former seat of the Worsley family, and the adjoining park were designed by Capability Brown.  An ideal site for ghost hunting too!
  • Walk from the farm to the village through Beech Copse, visit the Model Village in Godshill and then spoil yourself with a cream tea.
  • Indulge yourself at Thai Journey or Cook & Baker (01983 840080) – both in Godshill village.  For something further afield, we recommend the Smoking LobsterOff the Rails and The Blacksmiths amongst others.
  • The Botanic gardens in Ventnor is a place where the pleasure of plants can be enjoyed to the fullest and where people of all ages can learn more about the wonderful world of plants and the inextricable link that we have with them.
  • Feel the sand between your toes and the gentle sea breeze on the superb sandy beaches such as Compton Bay on the south coast or in the resorts of Shanklin, Sandown or Ventnor.
  • Help the local economy and treat yourself to some local produce from the island’s farm shops such as Harvey Browns in Arreton.
  • Book on one of the yoga retreats at the farm.
